I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.

Additional Devotions
This scripture is one of my favorites! I have a lot of favorites, but this one is jam-packed with confidence in the Divine. And at this very point in my life, I desperately need some divine confidence. How about you?
What are you struggling with right now that is stopping you cold in your tracks? Is there something calling you to the carpet of life and challenging you to an entirely different way of doing things?
I am faced with this very dilemma. Huge changes are looming up ahead as I send my first-born off to college. To say the least, I am flooded with all kinds of emotions—sadness, excitement, and everything in between.
The sadness I struggle with is probably more about the anticipation of how this will impact our family dynamic as he is a huge part of our every day life. His funny sense of humor, laid-back personality, and the basic fact that he has been a joy to raise. It hasn’t been perfect, but our journey has been a lot of fun. Honestly, I’m just going to flat-out miss him.
Then, just as the sadness starts to overwhelm me, I get a surge of excitement. Excitement for this new challenge and adventure for him and the opportunity to spread his wings and be the man God created and called him to be.
It’s in these moments, when we stare down our fear of the unknown and decide, sometimes against all odds, that we will choose to look beyond our circumstances and activate our faith that God’s peace takes over and produces in us a divine confidence.
Why? Because we know God is at the helm.
When we activate our faith, we force our eyes to focus on God and what he can do instead of what we fear.
We choose to trust him. We choose to put our hope in him. We choose to wait on him. And we do all of this in confident hope that we will see his goodness with our own eyes.
One thing is for sure, our God is a God of relationship and connection. He loves us so much and has an amazing plan for each of our lives. But in order for us to experience all he has designed for us, we must yield to his will.
More than likely, this decision to yield will require us to forsake the comfortable and familiar, and step out into the unknown.
Our only tether—a spiritual chord of faith.
Our great reward—being blown away by his provision and seeing “the goodness of the LORD” in our very own land of the living.
Isn’t that something? Isn’t that exciting? The God of the universe opens doors of opportunity for us to partner with him while he does amazing things on our behalf.
Our responsibility is to trust him, to wait patiently for him to work, to be strong in the process, and take heart that he will show himself faithful.
Alright then! Who is with me? Are you ready to accept the challenge to a higher place of existence with the Lord?
Reflect and Respond:
I want to encourage you to keep your eyes open for opportunities that require Divine Confidence. Don’t let fear keep you from God’s best for your life. Choose to trust even when you can’t see exactly what he is doing.
Remember, you are not alone on this journey. Be blessed this week as you activate your faith and experience our amazing God. I can’t wait to hear what he is doing in your life.
