Verse for the Week: “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.” —Numbers 6:24–26
As we approach a milestone in the history of MomsHope with our “Give Hope Event”, I would like to celebrate all that makes up this program. Let it be a reminder, an encouragement, a map of why we do what we do and how important it is.
So, what is MomsHope?
First, MomsHope provides one-on-one faith-based mentoring with the goal of resource development, personal advancement, spiritual growth and family stability.
In a nutshell: together, we are changing a generation one mom at a time.
We all have so much potential—mentors and mentees alike. And that is what we are about—working together and encouraging each other to grow and change in ways that will be pleasing to God and productive for ourselves and our children. It’s a collective effort for a common goal.
Unfortunately, for many of us, life has dealt us a less than stellar hand of cards. Because of that, we take behaviors learned from childhood into adulthood whether we like it or not. We learn habits and opinions about money and spending, pride and anger, and all sorts of things that affect how we experience life and parenting.
If we are honest, many of these attitudes and beliefs are unhealthy at best and destructive at worst. But we have hope for change! And since our premise here at MomsHope is based on change, this is where we find ourselves—hand-in-hand, heart-to-heart, working together towards a better life.
What’s really cool is that our mentors learn just as much from the mentees. We are learning together and from each other. That, my friend, is what MomsHope is all about.
There’s no doubt about it, change is hard, we all get that. So for our moms, in order to grow, they need to stretch beyond their comfort zones and that means doing things differently and thinking differently and choosing to react differently.
We are not a quick-fix curriculum or a 60-minute television makeover series. We are a program focused on growth—real and lasting growth intended to alter the trajectory of each mom, and in turn, alter the future of their children.
This type of change occurs through prayer and assessments where mentors work with mentees to set goals and work in tandem to achieve them. Unlike worldly success—often measured by dollars and cents, or climbing the cultural ladders of achievement—the success of those in MomsHope is measured in changes of a different nature, ones that affect the internal workings of how a family functions.
To all our moms who are working tirelessly to care and provide for their families, as well as making tough choices to improve their overall quality of life, Bravo!!
This shift in mentality can take even the strongest of us to the mat of discomfort where are insecurities scream uncle, and our frustration at fate mocks our efforts and taunts us to quit. But don’t! Don’t quit! You are closer than you think to real change and real rewards for your efforts.
God sees all your efforts. All your struggles. All your tears. Nothing is lost on Him. So in those times of real struggle, when you want to throw in the towel, turn to Him. He is your strength. Read our verse from Numbers over and over until you believe Him.
Ultimately, He has you in his grasp, yearning to be gracious to you and give you peace (Numbers 6: 24-26). Here at MomsHope, we want to point you to Him—the One who can, and will, carry you through your trials. The One who will give you the strength you need to change what needs changing and heal what needs healing.
Remember we are only in this business of bettering ourselves solely for an audience of one! The One and Only. First and Last. Alpha and Omega. The Lord our God!

Prayer:
Lord, continue to change me. I want to be different, I want to see change in my life and reap the blessings of obedience. You are my audience of one, the only one that truly matters. Help me to keep my eyes on you, my ears attuned to your voice and my heart connected to yours. I love you, Lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Hugs for a great week and remember, you are not alone. Be blessed and be a mom of hope!
