March on, my soul; be strong!

PRAYER

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Additional Devotions

Regardless of where you find yourself on the mom spectrum—actively raising kids, adjusting to an empty nest, or transitioning to grandparenting, this journey of motherhood is the most amazing and maddening experience we will ever have the honor to walk.

Our journey’s of motherhood often operate like a kaleidoscope of emotion. Beautiful and penetrating feelings that shift and blend over the years as we cycle through experiences unique to each child. Today, take some time to look back through the years and let the colors of the kaleidoscope spin.

Remember the joy of new life and the wonderment of discovering the unique bent of each child. Navigating school and friends and carpools. Riding the pendulum of choosing the right sports, activities, and pursuits. All the heartbreaking battles fought in prayer. The difficult decisions that stretched your faith. Feeling helpless to help. As well as the miracle of love that knows no bounds.

Rarely is the life of a mother comfortable or easy. Most days our pace is set at Mach 10—rushing from one crazy moment to another. And we can easily get caught up in the invisibility of being a mom because all too often there is just no reward in sight, no pats on the back, no ‘atta girl’, no real acknowledgment.

Being a mom takes patience, character, wisdom and sacrificial love. And even though we feel invisible much of the time, putting one tired foot in front of the other, God sees our efforts and the extent of our sacrifice.

Let me say that again. God sees you! Yes, God sees you, my sweet, and hard working mom. He sees your efforts. Your sacrifices. Your heart that fights for your kids in prayer, and labors through the mundane and perpetual tasks of laundry, cleaning, cooking, and caregiving.

No matter what season you are currently in, motherhood is a stretch—lots of hard work with little reward. But keep in mind, you are never alone in this battle.

In the coming weeks, when negativity wants to creep up and creep in, don’t let it. Look up to the Lord for strength and peace. He has marching orders for you, my friend. And they are leading you heavenward.

To all the amazing mother’s out there who tirelessly work for the good of their family—Happy Mother’ Day!! You are beautiful and strong, and you are doing a great job!

So, with that in mind, let’s receive a renewed focus to our call in the stage we find ourselves today, and be encouraged by the invitation of our verse—“March on, my soul; and be strong!”

Hugs for a great week and remember, you are not alone. Be blessed, be strong, and March On!
